The San Francisco Chronicle cited the Cupid’s Span sculpture on the Embarcadero as one of the romantic places to see/be this Valentine’s Day weekend. The female Dawn Jogger found something closer to home on the Stanford campus early this morning. At least it had arrow components, although in reality it’s an homage to an ancient Greek mathematician Erathosthenes. The Sieve of Erathosthenes is a simple, ancient algorithm for finding all prime numbers up to a specified integer. So you learn something every day…
