Lake Lagunita

Earlier in the year, Lake Lagunita had been full enough that the female DJ couldn’t read what the text on the “Yes” sign said. Now that it’s down to just a couple of big ponds (even though water from the upper reservoirs is flowing in), she was able to get a better look. She applauds its spirit: “Observe the swallows, phoebes and logger head shrikes. Sunbathe. Use as shortcut from West Campus to lake houses. Athletically move around perimeter. Petition unsuccessfully for lake to be filled. Wade, when water is present.” And why doesn’t the lake get filled…
