Long walk through the vines

Vineyards in Bray, FranceIt being Sunday and all, the female DJ declared a true day of rest. So after the Pentecost service at Taize – lots of locals had clearly driven up the hill – and a delicious omelette brunch prepared by the male DG, she drove over to the village of Bray (where they’ve had a number of good dinners at La Grange Finot and get their wine supply from Henri Lafarge). She loves the valley just west of Ameugny but decided it was time to get some real hill work in by going west. She climbed amidst the vineyards – and then climbed again through a forest until she was almost ridge top. A number of times she lost the yellow trail markers but it was never hard to figure out which way to go – she could just make out Ameugny’s distinctive water tower and used it as her directional guide. All along the route, she willed the extra calories away…
