First Blush: Mystery at Lake Lag this morning

Lake Lagunita, Sept 2010

There was a lot going on at dry Lake Lagunita this morning when the female Dawn Jogger ran along its western perimeter on her way to a up-and-over Big Dish run. For one, there was significant ground fog, not really surprising given the hot day yesterday and the cooling temperatures of overnight. What was surprising was the three or so dozen Canadian Geese gathered not quite in the middle of the dry lakebed. Had they stopped going north when there was water earlier this spring, only to be surprised to find it dry on their way south? And what prompted the two joggers to run through the flock? The DJ’s handy Lumix with 16x zoom served her well once again…
